What DC attractions do I need to make reservations for? It's a popular question. Most people are pleasantly surprised to discover that most attractions and museums are free to the public. Make sure you know the few attractions in DC that are by appointment only.

Woman's National Democratic Club: This club was founded in 1922 and originally rented quarters near the White House. In 1927, it moved to The White House, two blocks from The Embassy Row Hotel. This beautiful, historic mansion was granted museum status in 2000. The architectural masterpiece displays artifacts and history of the club. It's open by appointment only.
Guided tours of the historic U.S. Capitol building are free, but require tickets which are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors are encouraged to book tours in advance.
The White House "Tour of the White House": Public tours of the White House are limited to groups of 10 or more and must be requested through one's member of Congress.Most White House tour reservations are made a month or more in advance.
Smithsonian Tours for Hearing or Vision Loss: Smithsonian Museums accommodate visitors who need special assistance during their visit such as tours for the hearing or vision impaired.Make an appointment with the Smithsonian Museum at least 2-4 weeks in advance.
The Washington National Cathedral: This 14th century-style Gothic Cathedral offers a spectacular view of D.C. The Washington National Cathedral is only minutes from The Embassy Row Hotel. Guided tours are available by appointment only.
U.S. Navy Museum: U.S. Navy Museum features a collection that includes ship models, medals, uniforms, photographs, fine art and other Navy-related artifacts. Tour groups and individuals who do not have military or Department of Defense identification and want to visit the Museum should call in advance for an appointment.
Black Fashion Museum: A hidden gem in Washington, DC, the Black Fashion Museum features clothing and memorabilia that commemorate African American influence on the fashion industry in the past, present and future. Open to visitors by appointment only.
