8 Life Lessons From Our Bartender Jazmyne

8 Life Lessons From Our Bartender Jazmyne

What’s your favorite drink on the menu?

The ‘Vice and Virtue, Served Tall’ because it’s perfectly balanced—like all of our cocktails. It’s also bright a, fun, and refreshing with mass appeal. I love the bubbly component!

How do you help cheer up a customer who is having a rainy day?

First, I try to gauge if the guest wants to talk and then move forward, ensuring them the best experience with a friendly conversation.

What drink ingredients would you bring to a desert island?

Tequila, grapefruit juice, agave, and soda water. Tequila is one of my favorites and it gets the job done. I love grapefruit and the carbonation from soda water. Also, agave is a guilt-free sweetener.

What drink would you make for a customer that says, “just make me anything” ?

I would assess their personal likes and create a fun spin on one of the classics. I favor classic crafted cocktails the most.

How do you make customers feel extra special when it’s their birthday?

I’ll sing them happy birthday and/or surprise them with something special.

What’s the one golden rule you live by while bartending?

Always anticipate the guests’ needs, and have a fully stocked prepped bar.

What’s your method to the madness of handling a bar full of people?

Preparation is key! If the bar is set, then everything else is easy. When a guest orders, I’ll explain beforehand any delays that could occur and seek support from my team, who always backs me up.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received from a customer?

Keep doing what you love. I already adopted this mindset but the guest reassured me I had the right idea.
